MIx it up...

image courtesy of: Jak & Jil

I secretly love it when it's winter because you get to layer all of your favorite items from your closet. As you might have guessed from my previous entries, I am a true print fanatic! I adore the mix here of spots, cheetah, and leopard with a touch of hardware on her Stella McCartney bag. If only I could find this 3.1 Phillip Lim leather cheetah motorcycle jacket, I would be one happy shopper.

Jocelyn Fur Infinity Scarf

If you don't want to splurge on a coat or a fur trim  jacket, add a dash of coziness to your wardrobe with these amazing fur collars and scarves. I think my most favorite is the girl wearing an all black outfit with just a pop of gray fur around her neck. Could she look more chic!?
For a new take on the look, try Jocelyn's fur infinity scarf. Also, there are some fantastic faux fur options out there that are more animal and wallet friendly.

Fancy Pants...

Helmut Lang Leather Pants
I saw a few ladies walking the streets of Manhattan in leather pants. At first I thought I could never pull them off since my legs are not 6 feet tall. However, they are incredibly chic and a great way to stay warm! This picture of this adorable girl sent me over the edge, and I caved and bought the helmut lang leather/jersey leather legging at the sample sale!
Pair with a chunky sweater and boots and you are ready for the colder months!

Hi Everyone,
I apologize for being so MIA the past week. I have been traveling for work in NYC, and had little to no time to get on my computer! That being said, I always get inspired and fall in love with the fashionable women of New York. They are daring and willing to take a risk on the boldest trends: Shearling Jackets, Over the Knee Boots, Leather Accents, All over Sequins, and my personal lust-worthy item... a Fur Jacket.
Here are some of the things I dared to pick up in NYC...

Cheap Find of the Week

I love finding great finds at Steve Madden and the likes, but I rarely peep my head into Aldo. There is nothing better than finding highly trendy shoes at an incredible price!

Aldo velvet heel: $130

Aldo Platform Heel: $110
For shoes that are extremely trendy, I sometimes prefer to not invest in them, because you never know how long you will be OBSESSED with them. Today I popped onto Aldo shoes' website and found these two adorable options that I would love to have a brief trendy love affair with. The velvet option is adorable for the holidays and the heel is reminiscent of chunky marni heels. The second option, an adorable grey platform, looks at though the heel would make it extremely comfortable and wearable and reminds me of all the Givenchy platforms and wedges I have been seeing all over town.
What is your fave?

Happy Holidays!!!

My Fashion Olympics

(in black)

I have never been an athlete, so I have no idea what the rush feels like right before the referee has yelled go or the Nascar girl screams start your engines...but I imagine it was very similar to the feeling I got this weekend right before they let me and a group of women loose at my local H&M to get our hands on their Lanvin collection. This endeavor took up my entire Saturday. I arrived promptly at 6:30 A.M and was given a bracelet to come back for my "time slot" at 12:45. Once I arrived back there were about ten riot police on guard and about 400 people shoving to get a look at the one room that held the collection. Once it was my time, my group was placed behind a rope and waited our turn. As the last minute counted down, I swear I could feel my heart in my ears. Once us crazies were "let loose" we all grabbed for our most prized items, but were only allowed one piece per garment, so you had to be sure of your size. You had only fifteen minutes to shop and try on, and as you left to the dressing rooms, they CUT OFF your bracelet. It was intense and it was totally worth it. I felt as though I had won the fashion Olympics as I took home three of my favorite dresses from the collection.  All for $199 a pop, which is quiet a steal compared to their normal dresses which retail for about $3,000.
Which of my new dresses is your fave?

The Chicest Duo

I love both of their outfits from head to toe. Giovanni B (right) continues to be one of my favorite reoccuring women on the sartorialist. The shoes and the dress! Perfection! And everyone knows my love of all things leopard...

PS1 bag.. IN PATENT!

Proenza Schouler Bag: Image Courtesy of style.com
I have had a long love affair with Proenza Schouler's PS1 bag. I love it more and more season after season. It is the perfect size and shape, and it has just the right amount of details and hardware. The best part, they look even better after wear and tear! So I  was squelling with glee when I found out that they will be doing a patent leather version sold exclusively on their website. I always adore patent bags in the fall, and it is a fantastic thing to have for rain or shine Holiday weather. Apparently, Proenza is using a new form of patent:  layers of transparent lacquer are painted on the skin rather than the traditional method of layering plastic on the leather.
I think it is official.. I AM OBSESSED!

Glamorous Gals

I love both of these outfits and they look even more amazing together! These ladies are two contributors to the blog photographing real people. As all of you know from my previous posts, they are both sporting one of my favorite trends, leopard print. I love both of their takes on this trend and how they both incorporate it into their own personal style.
I would love to think my best friend and I could look this glamorous on the street...

And they have done it again... J.Crew Spring 2011 collection

Images courtesy of: Fashionista.com
I have been a huge fan of J.Crew the past few seasons and Spring 2011 is no exception! I adore their use of color and texture in their clothes. The shades of green, pink, blue, and orange truly read Spring and I want almost every piece from the collection. I continue to love their use of sequins and how they often pair sequin skirts with chambray and cotton button down shirts to make the outfits extremely wearable. Sequins are no longer just for new years!
what look is your favorite?

Mini Me

All Images Courtesy of: Phillip Lim
It is no surprise that my favorite designer, Phillip Lim, also makes one of the most adorable kids lines I have ever seen. When I came across his Fall 2010 kids line, I simply fell in love. I would wear every single outfit that these girls are wearing if they came in my size. A feminine dress with a military inspired coat, a leather skirt with a chunky knit, and a lace skirt mixed with a stripe top and a ruffle blouse... All outfits that I have been dying to create myself!
